I would like to know if in the future the function “metal sheet” will be available. Would be possible to arrive to the flat layout starting from a formed shape? Thank-you in advance for your answer! . I am able to send files to .
So we're gonna make a die and then we're gonna make a template that's gonna help us finalize the shape and place all of the holes. Because we're pressing this part out of sheet metal, we're going to make a die and use a sheet of material that's larger than the finished part that we're going for. So using the. 01:42
00:02. Welcome to a Shapr3D tutorial. We're going to be taking a look at this lamp design here, and we're going to be taking it from a concept that was provided by a designer and turning it into a manufacturable model and also generating all of the templates, dyes, and tools that are going to be needed in order to fabricate the components out of the real materials. Currently the app does not have specific sheet metal features. Thanks for your understanding! Rahul March 28, 2022, 7:42pm . I use straight edge jaws. When bending acrylic, I use a radius jaw to form the bend. To model this in Shapr3D, I essentially draw circles to determine the length of the ends to be bent. Related Topics Topic Replies Views Hello, I want to bend sheet metal into tubs. how do i draw this via the program. i need to process the 3d drawing. I would then like to send the drawing to the company so that they can produce it. thanks in advance for the replies. Greetings daniel Grill.step (2.4 MB)
Hi Shapr3D team, will it be possible to flatten a cone in the 2D-Drawing feature? i.e. to create a pattern for a cone on CNC table (sheet metal)? . i.e. to create a pattern for a cone on CNC table (sheet metal)? Create and edit sheet metal parts with folded, flat, and table information in one simultaneous view. I have imported a step file (actually 5 different files 5 different times in 5 different new drawings from grabcad, all made Shapr3D crash) So then I took the time to model the sheet of expanded metal I needed in a new drawing
These are 2d on the same plane representing a sheet metal part In the part highlighted in blue I want to group the 3 sketches and lock them together in 1 part then move them to a new folder as a part on their own The problem 1 I cant see any way to group items together without having to select each component each time 2 I cant see how to then . Hi My name is edwin and im using shapr3d for almost a year now and im very happy that i startet to make designs with your app as i never did use any design program. I have a question. I make a lot designs that will be made from sheet metal and has to be water/laser cutted before folding it. if i make a 3d design is it possible to change a folded part to unfolded 2d . My objective is to crate a drawing of element that will be cut out of metal sheet. Ready element after cutting and bending will be one full turn (360 deg) of conveyor auger. In one of my messages above there is a manufacture drawing of such element.
Sheet metal is not a thing in Shapr3D. Wrong program at this time for that IMHO. I made sheet metal like panels by actually drawing a curved line. then using the offset tool to offset the line by a very very small amount, then closing each end (Autoclose might be nice feature to have). Then I drew another different curve like the first. The best bet would be to draw the side view and extrude it. “Bending” is not a feature of Shapr or most CAD programs unless they have a (usually) very expensive sheet metal add on. Sweep would work but is more .
My hopes in the not-so-long term, with parametric history now, that Shapr will have sheet metal functionality. Set material thickness, bend radius, K-factor, bend relief, etc and let the software handle the rest. I have done quite a few sheet metal projects, but still need to ultimately use other software to generate the flat patterns. Trying to do the same with some sheet metal. ctc1111 June 1, 2022, 1:07pm 4. I was compelled to come back to this post to see if there had been any relevant solutions from Shapr3d as I’m running into this issue again. I am having to CNC cut a plywood flange that matches the sheer line of the boat hull. . Sheet Metal functions This is a big wish, but i see a lot of potential for using this for sheet metal parts, but not being about too fold designs flat for laser cutting means its not really feasible without inputting the design into a third party CAD package with a sheet metal engine, like Solidworks, to fold it flat for you. Sheet fabrication, whether in metal or plywood, is one of the core fabrication techniques that accounts for more than 90% of all the tasks in our shop for example. The typical workflow consists of modeling the part and exporting the sketch to cut the part using a CNC router, waterjet, or CNC plasma cutter. The problem arises when part needs to be bent, .

Bending sheet metal. Need help? We are here. 4: 3772: April 25, 2021 In particular, how should this curved surface be made. Need help? We are here . Hey, I am working on perforated metal sheet. The sheet is sized 1000x2000mm and it has 5mm round holes all over. My problem is when i try to extrude the sheet the app crashes constantly. I tried to cut it into smaller parts and then extrude. It worked partly but it would be great if I could extrude the whole sheet in one go. The question is: is my 2022 iPad too . Hi, here are the videos. I had to split them so each one is less than 10MB. You will see there are actually 3 different metal sheet to build : one with only rounded edge on the right, for the left side of the sheet, one with only the rounded extrusion on the left, for the right side of the sheet, and one with both rounded edge and extrusion, duplicated to create the 4 metal sheet .

I want to do operation like ‘sheet metal’ feature in Fusion360. I understand Shapr3d does not support that [yet]. Instead, can I bring sketches drawn on different planes together onto the same plane? Thank you.
I have imported a head model from a 3d website that I’m looking to get 3d printed and then cast in metal as two hollow halves. the issue I’m having is that shapr sees the model as a “sheet” and I cannot thicken the walls due to the complex curves in the model. is it possible to make the model solid so that I can then go ahead and shell it so that I can gain a thickness on .
A complexity for sheet metal is its stretchiness when bent round a corner. For instance, producing an accurate L-shaped angle with sides 25mm and 50mm would not require a flat piece 75mm. It would be just a bit different because of the way the metal acts at the bend.
