Figure out what you want for weight, figure out the volume that cement would require to make that weight. Build a wooden frame to pour the cement into it, make sure you have a rod to pass though it all so you can attach it to your three point hitch. The completed weight box is just about 500 pounds. I secured all of the interior reinforement steel by welding, :thumbsup:. I used 2 extra 3/4" set collars that are flush with the outside of the plywood so the weight and wear does not abuse the plywood.

It wouldn’t fit onto the quick hitch with the forward boards and the 2x4’s. My main goal was to see if I could save the forms. and if so, I'm making a second one. They came off like butter; especially when I hooked the top point and simply picked the block up vertically.
Ballast boxes take a bunch of side stress and one notices how beefy the steel is in the fabrication. I think with the proper measuring a nice concrete mold could be made using cast in 3pt hardware.
