I have a 2002 f150 Super crew. the brake line that comes off the rear axle heading straight up into the bed is leaking brake fluid. What is that part called? Is it just a breather line or is it this one of the common problems that the F150s had?

There's a recall & a TSB for the e-brake, so make sure yours was done, and done properly. If you have to buy new cables, they're inexpensive & easy-to-find at most parts stores. This is how to remove them: Brake lines are simple. Just buy a roll of brake line and remove the original bend it by hand so that it somewhat matches the other. You will need a crimping tool to attach fittings to the ends. Install the new line and bleed the system.I have a 2002 f 150 4x4 that the rear brakes locked up on and of course got really hot. I just replaced the brake line that runs fro the front to the back axle. My question is there a check valve or something that could get hung or have trash in it that would cause both sides to lock up? The connected end is on the junction where the rear brake line branches off to the right and left. This hose goes directly back away from that connection but is broken off at the other end. It appears to not contain brake fluid.
